Ray's handwriting

LETTERS

Ray wrote home to his family in Australia at least once a fortnight. In all his letters number around sixty. The first letter in this series begins the day before he embarked from Sydney on the first leg of his journey aboard the S.S. Monterey bound for the United States. Many of Ray's letters presented here are illustrated with his photographs. Where possible his own hand written captions will describe those photographs. Occasionally an original scan of a particular letter will be included, along with other relevant documents, pictures and links. As this is a journey it makes sense to follow it chronologically. So begin at the beginning and remember... it's 1941!
