Dear Everybody,

Have been doing a fair bit of flying, am now in Hudsons, was with a crew a ‘Yank’ Pilot, Aus Observer & two Aus Wags, (myself & another). Have put in for a remuster to a straight A.G. am fed up with wireless no interest in it, & the sound of squeals & howls & morse makes me tired.

We had some heavy snow for several days, had some bad pain with my feet couldn’t get them warm, found out that both little toes had been frost bitten slightly, they are now nearly better, the ground was frozen & the rooms where we have lectures were terribly cold.

Two letters from Helen again this week. Got the paper with the picture of Margaret & her friends, 21st Birthday many happy returns, didn’t know when it was, & didn’t know Margaret was so ancient.

Had a parcel with Mittens & a Balclava Cap from I think the name was B. McDonald couldn’t read the address made out an old friend of Mums, the parcel had apparently travelled all over England & even the note inside was worn.

Am enclosing a couple of pictures of the snow just outside our huts, it blew some when the snow was falling, & the wind didn’t drop for 4 days afterwards. Some snow is still on the ground in sheltered positions, when most of it thawed it was a mess.

Had three Christmas cards last week one from Huddy Pt. Augusta, one from the Fielder’s, & one from John Mortimer Wilmington

Did someone finish off the film in the movie camera, on some colour?

Love, Ray
