Dear Everybody,

Six letters arrived today 4 from home (2 Mum & Ethels), 2 Helens, & one card from the Fielder Family, & one from John Mortimer, Wilmington, yesterday two letters from home & a cable from Dad. One of the letters today was dated the Fourth of January, & the Express is starting to catch up, four this week, South Australia House is certainly a lot quicker than the old address.

It was kind of Mrs Ding to write, Eric (her husband) & I got on very well together, but we went to different parts of England, have kept up correspondance ever since, hope we get to the same station when we finish.

The young parrots won’t be all hens, the red takes sometimes twelve months to colour up.

Am still at this training school will be here for some time yet, after here we don’t know, we all hope to be posted back to Australia.

Have been made a member of the Mess Committee & have been stirring things up, to improve conditions, no one seems to bother say we won’t get the benefit, perhaps we won’t but those that come here after us will, so I’m doing my best.

The B.H.A.S. Pty. Ltd., Pt Pirie, Employees Picnic Assoc; sent me a postal Canteen Order for 5/- can only change it at a R.A.A.F. Canteen, think London is the nearest.

Could do with some of the heat & sunshine over here, to balance the cold.

Love, Ray
