Dear Everybody,

Didn’t go to the Shetland Islands after all, went right up to the north of Scotland to the embarkation port, & were told our squadron was in another part of the British Isles. Have to do several more courses, am now waiting until one of the training schools can take us.

Only one Express has turned up yet, & no magazines from Auntie Ted, perhaps they will come later, put an extra strong wrapper round the Express as the papers are handled such a lot.

When I sent views from Canada, some were sent to Margaret too, I hope they have turned up since. Had another T.A.B. injection yesterday, a tooth filled today, & another to be filled on Sunday.

Did the Menus, & the certificate of Father Neptune (crossing the line) & the picture of the boat turn up, were only allowed to send them some months after.

The mess on this station is quite the best we’ve had in the British Isles, so far, has a nice lounge, big easy chairs, & a fire burning. Our quarters are also good, two in a room, fireplace, wardrobe & chest of drawers, the beds are quite comfortable.

Ethel’s drawings are great, the flowers & drawings of the birds are life like. It’s been raining here for days, only see the sun on very rare occasions.

Love, Ray
