Dear Everybody,

Have just been posted to the Shetland Islands, its about 350 miles north of here so it will be cold, its quite cold enough here for me. Will you thank Cousin Rose & Peggy for the dried fruit, am glad John is doing alright, hope he gets his wings. We have been given seven days leave & I will go to?, somewhere in the north of Scotland, where we embark if possible to save carting my kit around with me, three large kitbags are too much to lug around.

Does Dad know what countie & what town Grandfather came from, would like to visit the place if I can go on some leave.
